A ‘long list’ of sites for potential future development across South Gloucestershire has been compiled from Calls for Sites undertaken by South Gloucestershire Council in recent years. The potential sites around Wickwar can be viewed on the South Gloucestershire Council website by following this link http://map.n-somerset.gov.uk/southgloscallforsites.html
(Zoom in and click on the individual sites to be taken to a form which details the potential number of houses which can be accommodated).
It is important to note that South Gloucestershire Council says the following about the ‘long list’ on its website:
At this stage we have not reached a decision on how suitable or deliverable the sites are on this ‘long list’. Work to identify development potential will be undertaken over the coming months. Once complete, sites considered to have potential for development will be subject to public consultation in 2019.
Since the ‘long list’ has been published South Gloucestershire Council has announced that the Joint Spatial Plan (JSP) has been withdrawn from the examination process. South Gloucestershire has also announced that it will continue to work with the West of England authorities and WECA, along with relevant bodies, to plan positively on strategic cross-boundary matters and to progress with work on joint evidence base studies during 2020. Further details on the timetable and work programme will be published in due course.
The timetable for progressing the South Gloucestershire Local Plan is currently being updated and will also be published in due course.
This announcement suggests that work to consider sites from the ‘long list’ for potential development will also be delayed.
