Lest We Forget

25 October 2018

“Lest We Forget” is an account of the men of Wickwar and Rangeworthy commemorated in the two villages, researched and compiled by Arthur Threlfall Searson.

The document seeks to tell the stories of those men who died in the First World War on the War, named on the Memorials of Wickwar and Rangeworthy. The project began with the display of memorabilia at Holy Trinity Church, Wickwar, at the beginning of the centenary commemoration in 2014. Susannah Russell had put together brief accounts of each of those named and it seemed like a relatively simple task to take those accounts forward, to expand them slightly.

You can download the full document here (be aware, it’s quite large – 21Mb).

Many thanks to Arthur for his hard work on producing and sharing this fascinating document.
