Wickwar.org Terms and conditions of use
These are our terms and conditions for use of the network, which you may access in several ways, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, digital television, PDA, mobile phone and RSS feeds. These terms and conditions apply whenever you access the network, on whatever device. In these terms and conditions, when we say wickwar.org, we mean this network, regardless of how you access it.
By using the network, you are deemed to have accepted these conditions.
Some areas of wickwar.org require registration. By completing the initial registration form and by entering your email address and password, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. Also, by subscribing to any of our email services, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. If you register with wickwar.org, you should read our privacy policy.

1. Registration
When you register, you are registering as a personal user of wickwar.org. Access to registration areas is via your username and password.
We allow you access to the registration areas of the site on the basis that:
- your email address and password are personal to you and may not be used by anyone else to access wickwar.org
- you will not do anything which would assist anyone who is not a registered user to gain access to any registration area of wickwar.org
- you do not maliciously create additional registration accounts for the purpose of abusing the functionality of the site, or other users; nor do you seek to pass yourself off as another user
- you comply with these terms and conditions.
If, for any reason, we believe that you have not complied with these requirements, we may, at our discretion, cancel your access to the registration areas of wickwar.org immediately and without giving you any advance notice.
2. Termination of registration
If we wish to bring the agreement to an end, we will do so by emailing you at the address you have registered stating that the agreement has terminated. The agreement will terminate and your email address and password will become invalid on wickwar.org immediately.
3. Use of material appearing on wickwar.org
For the purposes of this agreement, "material" means material including, without limitation, text, video, graphics and sound material, published on the wickwar.org network, whether copyright of wickwar.org or a third party.
You may download and print extracts from the material and make copies of these for your own personal and non-commercial use only. You are not allowed to download or print the material, or extracts from it, in a systematic or regular manner or otherwise so as to create a database in electronic or paper form comprising all or part of the material appearing on wickwar.org.
You must not reproduce any part of wickwar.org or the material or transmit it to or store it in any other website or disseminate any part of the material in any other form, unless we have indicated that you may do so.

4. Disclaimer of liability
To the extent permitted at law, we do not accept any responsibility for any statement in the material. 6. Submitting graphical material and photography for publication on wickwar.org
When you send a photograph or other graphical material to us you do so in accordance with these Terms of service.
This means that you hereby agree that you have taken the photograph(s) you have sent to us or you have permission from or are authorised by the owner of the photograph(s) to send it (them) to us, and you are granting us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish or otherwise use the photograph(s) in any way and at any time we want on the wickwar.org site.
Selected photographs and graphical material will be published at the discretion of the administrator and you will not be paid, even if your photograph(s) is (are) published.
We may cut, edit, crop or arrange your photograph(s) or graphic as we think fit to appear on the wickwar.org web site, and we may remove your photograph(s) or graphics at any time.
IMPORTANT: You or the owner of the photograph(s) still own the copyright in the photograph(s) sent to us and are free to republish the photograph(s) wherever you or the owner wish and in whatever medium you or the owner want.
7. Submitting text for publication on wickwar.org
Users of our site may submit material for publication in various areas of the site, including our Forums and blogs. We accept no liability in respect of any material submitted by users and published by us and we are not responsible for its content and accuracy.
If you want to submit material to us for publication on wickwar.org, you may do so on the following terms and conditions:
- publication of any material you submit to us will be at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to make additions or deletions to the text or graphics prior to publication, or to refuse publication
- you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to republish any material you submit to us in any format, including without limitation print and electronic format
- you warrant to us that any material you submit to us is your own original work and that you own the copyright and any other relevant rights
- you must not post or submit material which is solely intended for advertising purposes or self-promotion
- you warrant that the material you submit is not obscene, offensive, defamatory of any person or otherwise illegal
- you agree not to post material which is deliberately intended to upset other users
- you acknowledge that any breach of these warranties may cause us damage or loss and you agree to indemnify us in full and permanently against any third party liabilities, claims, costs, loss or damage we incur as a result of publishing material you submit to us, including consequential losses.
- we reserve the right to remove your access to individual services completely if we believe you are abusing the services in any way.
8. Advertising in the wickwar.org Business Index
All users may advertise local businesses within the Business Index, which is free of charge for a basic listing. More advanced features may be added for a small cost.
Listings will run for 90 days once added to the index, after which they will expire if not renewed. You will be notified via email if your advert is due for renewal.
All submission are subject to administrator approval.

10. Variations
These terms may be varied from time to time. Please ensure that you review these terms and conditions regularly as you will be deemed to have accepted a variation if you continue to use the site after it has been posted. Details of variations will be posted in section 12 below.
11. Force majeure
Although we will do our best to provide constant, uninterrupted access to wickwar.org, we do not guarantee this. We accept no responsibility or liability for any interruption or delay.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by English law and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Wickwar.org Privacy Policy
At wickwar.org we collect different types of information about our users for three main reasons:
1. To help us to monitor and improve the services we offer.
2. To provide personalised services unique to individual users.
3. To use anonymous details about our users to sell appropriate advertising space on the site. This might mean showing an advertiser how many users we have on the site; it does not mean sharing an individual's details with an advertiser. Where we collect registration information from an individual, we will never share that individual's information with a third party, including an advertiser, without that user's explicit permission.
Our principles
We are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. Our policy can be summarised in one sentence: we will not share your information with others without your prior consent. We have also established the following principles:
1. We will continue to invest in high-quality security and do our utmost to protect user privacy through the appropriate use of the latest security technology.
2. We will respect your email privacy. You will not receive unsolicited marketing mail from wickwar.org and/or from third parties screened by wickwar.org unless you have agreed to this. We will, however, mail you occasionally with information or queries about your registration, your subscription account or postings, for example, with reminders, warnings or copyright requests.
3. We will not pass on any individual user details (including your email address) for third party use unless we have your prior consent. Or you have invited a third party to get in contact with you.
4. We always ensure that contractors we use in connection with the running of the website and services (for example hosting providers) are subject to strict contractual obligations. They are only able to process data on our behalf and in accordance with our principles and instructions and not for any other independent purpose.
5. Otherwise, we will only share anonymous aggregate statistics about our users, sales and traffic patterns with our advertisers.
6. Our site is accessible via the Internet and so may potentially be accessed by anyone around the world. Other users may access the site from outside the European Economic Area. This means that, where you choose to post your data on the site, this could be accessed from anywhere around the world and therefore a transfer of your data outside of the European Economic Area may be deemed to have occurred. You consent to such transfer of your data for and by way of this purpose. Where we or our contractors transfer data outside of the European Economic Area this is only ever done with the relevant protections required by law in place.
Should we elect to change our privacy policy we will post the changes here. Where the changes are significant, we may also choose to email all our registered users with the new details.
We also offer a 'Profile' page, where you can update your personal information at any time. You can get to this page from most pages on the site - simply click on the "Profile" link at the top of the screen when you are signed in (in the User Menu).
What information do we collect?
We collect information on our users as follows: through registration and where you choose to disclose data in postings.
The minimum information we need to register a user is an email address, your name, a username, and a password. We will ask further questions for different services, including competitions. Unless stated, all registration questions are compulsory. We also ask some further, voluntary questions so we can gain a clearer understanding of our users. Your responses help us to sell appropriate advertising space and so keep the site free. They also enable us to personalise services for our users. We do not share this information with third parties unless you have specifically consented to this.
We also collect data listing which of our pages are most frequently visited and by which types of users.
How does wickwar.org protect customer information?
We do our utmost to protect user privacy. UK Data Protection Legislation means we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access.
Will wickwar.org disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
Wickwar.org will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others unless you have given us your permission. With your permission we will only share the information with carefully chosen, reputable and trustworthy third parties. Also, wickwar.org may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information. Wickwar.org follows the relevant legal requirements and uses all reasonable precautions to ensure only responsible third parties see the information, however we are not responsible for any breach of security or any actions of any third parties who receive the information.
Please note that we reserve the right to access and disclose individually identifiable information to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests, to operate our systems properly and to protect both ourselves and our users.
Any data processors with access to your data in providing services on our behalf are subject to contractual restrictions to ensure that your data is protected, and not used independently by such third party.
