Welcome to the community section of Wickwar.org - we've been busy implementing some great new features to enhance your experience, and enable a greater level of interactivity and involvement. The new features have been designed to be easy-to-use whether you are a seasoned computer user, or a casual user who is quite new to the internet.
Please read the sections below which will explain each of the new features - and if you need help, please do get in touch.
User Registration / Creating an AccountCreating a user account on Wickwar.org is necessary for security reasons, and to stop "spam" from being published to the site in various forms (which can be time consuming to deal with, and often offensive in content). User accounts must be approved by the website administrator, which can take up to 24 hours.
Once registered, you will recieve a confirmation email (this will contain a link which must be clicked on in order to confirm your application), once you've confirmed, the website administrator will approve your account.
Once approved, you will be notified via email and may logon to the site and access the restricted features - such as posting to the forums, posting blog articles to the community blog, adding comments, submitting articles, submitting files and submitting weblinks.
Registration is free.
Discussion ForumsDiscussion forums are the place to post messages and participate in active discussions with other members. Discussion topics can be about anything you like, but please try to ensure you post in the correct forum.
Submitting ContentThe article submission process has been streamlined to make it much more accessible to users to update the site with their own articles. You are able to add content pages to any section/category you like; simply use the article submission form, make your selections, enter your content, and click "Save". Once submitted, your article will be placed on a moderation queue, where it will be checked for accuracy and formatting consistency, before being added to the site. In addition, any articles you've previously submitted can be re-edited by you (again, changes will be added to the moderation queue) - this makes it easy to maintain pages that can change on a regular basis.
If you would like to claim "ownership" of any existing pages on the site (in order to make amendments), please get in touch.
