It has been suggested that walking can help to control or alleviate conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis and raised blood pressure. In addition, there are also links with reducing the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, some cancers and more recently dementia.
The potential benefits of physical activity on mental health are endless, but there are definite links with reduced anxiety, stress and depression, not to mention helping to enhance mood, self-esteem and body image – which is very good news for all of us.

Wickwar Charity Walk for Street Children in Bangalore, India
Saturday 17th September – Wickwar to Hawkesbury, 10 mile round trip.
Start time is 10:30am. Meet at Wickwar Town Hall – All welcome to join in this fun event!
Preparations are already underway for this year’s village fair on Saturday 10th September from 2pm and this year our theme is going to be ‘Ye Olde’.
With a traditional theme following and a fabulous mixture of our very own traditional stalls, retail stalls, BBQ, bar, produce show and much, much more, the afternoon is going to be a great one!
