Medieval Village Fair 2009

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

Village Fair 2009After another dreadful grey, gloomy summer we all prayed for a sunny day for the 27th Annual Village Fair.

Thankfully our prayers were answered and a gorgeous sunny day arrived which helped bring in the crowds.

Local residents, their extended families, PTA and other local village groups, made it a very successful fun-filled afternoon.

The school playground quickly transformed with the help of some fantastic medieval bunting, medieval music and several medieval fancy dress costumes courtesy of many a PTA member!!

A fabulous bird of prey exhibition and flying display together with the medieval jousting were amongst the most popular activities, not to mention the never ending queue at the bar and BBQ stalls!!

Many local clubs/organisations also joined in the fun with their individual displays and information stalls together with our own traditional game stalls which were back in action, all helping to put a smile on the children’s faces.

Our raffle this year was one of the best yet. Many fantastic prizes were donated by local businesses/people who we would like to say a huge thank you to.

Another thank you must also go to all the people who entered our produce/craft show. The standard of entries this year was again very high and our congratulations must go to all our category winners.

Lastly my final thanks must go to our fantastic PTA team and our ‘friends of the PTA’ who regularly give up their free time and without their hard work, commitment and willingness before, during and after, these type of events wouldn’t happen.
