Are We Getting It Right Together?
The South Gloucestershire Compact, which provides a framework for promoting effective partnership working between our sector and the local public sector, has now been in place for five years, but what impact has it had on relationships and how deeply is it embedded at an operational level? In order to look at these questions and others, the South Gloucestershire Compact Monitoring and Oversight Group has commissioned a review. To launch the review process, representatives from both sectors are invited to attend an event which will provide an opportunity to celebrate successes, highlight issues and to contribute to the development of a refreshed local Compact and its implementation in the years to come. There will also be an opportunity for networking during lunch which will be provided.
To find out more about the event, please see our website at www.cvs-sg.org.uk/south-gloucestershire-compact-review-event-2009. You can book online or send us the accompanying booking form (available in the download section).
The event will be held at Cleeve Rugby Club, Mangotsfield, on Friday July 17th 2009 from 10am to 1pm and includes a networking lunch.

Funding opportunities in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
SITA Trust is an Environment Body that supports hundreds of projects across the UK by distributing funds made available from landfill tax through the Landfill Communities Fund. Recent changes in our funding criteria now enable us to fund community improvement projects within three miles of SITA UK Ltd’s waste treatment facilities in the area as well as biodiversity and youth volunteering projects within ten miles of any landfill site.
You are invited to a presentation outlining the work of the Trust and explaining opportunities available for community groups, Parish Councils and Local Councils to apply for funding support from the Trust. The presentation will take place on Monday 13th July at 4.00 to 5.30pm at the Holiday Inn, Filton and is open to everyone who could benefit from support by the Trust.
